Giannis Antetokounmpo gets unusual gift from team in Saudi Arabia
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s tweets were undoubtedly read by Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
Antetokounmpo, a superstar for the Milwaukee Bucks, received an unexpecteԀ gift this week from the Saudi soccer team Al Hilal. Antetokounmpo’s personalized Al Hilal soccer shirt was unveiled on Tuesday via a Twitter post. Antetokoumpo also received a gift box that read, “You are part of the Al Hilal family now.”A record-breаking offer of over $1 billiоn was made by Al Hilal to capture French soccer sensation Kylian Mbappe, with $332 million going to Mbappe’s club Paris Saint-Germain and $776 million going to Mbappe himself. Despite the fact that Mbappe ultimately rejected Al Hilal, the saga was amusing enough to prompt a tweet from Antetokounmpo in which he joked about wanting to join Al Hilal.
After failing to get Mbappe, Al Hilal turned its attention to Neymar Jr., a Brazilian superstar and Mbappe’s teammate at PSG. They agreed to pay Neymar $300 million over two years (not including the $102 million transfer fee to PSG) when they signed him.
In response to both the jersey present and the Neymar transfer news, Antetokounmpo tweeted a photo of himself with the Brazilian superstar. To paraphrase, “Best duo in the Saudi league!!” As Antetokunmpo put it in writing. This summer, Al Hilal signed several high-profile players from European soccer leagues, including new captain Neymar, midfielder Ruben Neves, and defender Kalidou Koulibaly. Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, two of the world’s best soccer players, have just signed with Saudi Arabian clubs. The much younger Antetokoumpo (just 28) appears to be the next player on Al Hilal’s recruiting list.
