Good news: Shohei Ohtani says his elbow sᴜrgery went well, but he won’t comment on his future with the Angels

Since making his Major League Baseball debut in 2018, Shohei Ohtani has been one of the game’s most talked-about players. As his future with the Los Angeles Angels, the organization that signed him five years ago, becomes increasingly unclear, he has recently become the focus of much attention.

There were only a few weeks remaining in the regular season when we heard that Ohtani had emptied out his locker. Ohtani had been recovering from an oblique ιnjury, but the news was misinterpreted by many as signaling the end of his stay with the Angels.

Ohtani updated his Instagram followers on Tuesday morning, revealing he had surgery on his damaged elbow the previous day. This explains why he had left for Japan before the season was over.

When asked how he plans to support his Angels colleagues, Ohtani said he “will be rooting on” them. This is not news, considering Ohtani’s surgery was widely anticipated to take place during the summer. Ohtani, who will be a free agent after the season, has likewise said nothing regarding his future with the franchise.

Ohtani’s representative, the Angels, also issued a statement. Ohtani’s surgeon, who also operated on Aaron Rodgers, said in the report that the top player will be fit to Һit for the 2024 season but won’t be able to pitch until the 2025 campaign.

It would be fascinating to watch if Ohtani’s contract discussions are affected by the fact that he won’t be able to pitch for the entire 2019 season.
