Similar to the previous campaign, Real Madrid is having injury issues. Due to potentially season-ending ACL injuries, the squad lost both starting goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois prior to the start of the campaign and center-back Eder Militao on matchday 1. Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni suffered injuries more recently.
Jude Bellingham has been enduring a shoulder issue as well. His problem isn’t believed to be significant, though, and he should return during the international break.
However, the most recent blow to injuries is a very big one. It is anticipated that Vinicius Jr. will be out for up to two months. This is concerning since it means that Real Madrid will only have three healthy forward players for the foreseeable future. In response, the team appears to be considering a January transfer.
Most fans, though, might be surprised by the name. Timo Werner may be used by Real Madrid to temporarily fill a hole up top, according to SPORT (via The Sun) reports.
Timo Werner, a German international, has been connected to Real Madrid since January 2020. Prior to his summer 2020 transfer to Chelsea, Werner was linked to Real Madrid. Despite leading the team to a Champions League victory, the German never quite lived up to the hype during his two full seasons at Stamford Bridge.
Werner returned to RB Leipzig in the summer of 2022 for a rumoured £25 million transfer fee. In his first season back, he did not quite return to his previous level of play, although he did manage 16 goals overall. This time around, things have not gone well, and there are rumours that the Bundesliga team is considering letting him go.
If Real Madrid makes a play for Werner, it is still to be seen. If so, would they want a long-term contract or to keep him on loan for the remainder of the season?
