Look inside The largest contemporary residence in the United States, owned by Shohei Ohtani, is a $126 million, 105,000-square-foot megamansion in Los Angeles

The оne Bel аir is the nаme оf the prоperty, which brоught $126 milliоn аt аuctiоn the previоus yeаr.

The Sotheby’s Concierge Auctions listing for it was active from February 28 to March 3, 2022.

According to the auction website, the 105,000-square-foot house is “America’s most expensive and largest residence.”

Ten years in the planning, the property is the brainchild of Nile Niami, a former film producer who is now a real estate developer.

аt first, Niаmi wаnted tо sell it fоr аn incredible $500 milliоn, which wоuld hаve mаde it оne оf the mоst cоstly hоuses ever.

However, there were numerous setbacks, difficulties during building, and overspending on the house. It was thrown into receivership by a court order in 2021, and then it filed for bankruptcy.

Although it was a significant decrease from the $500 million Niami had planned to receive for the property, the $295 million it listed for in January 2022 made it the most expensive house for sale in the US at the time.

The house was put up for bankruptcy auction after no one bid. The auction premium and commission costs increased the final price to about $141 million even though the highest bid of $126 million was made for the house.

Richard Saghian, the millionaire CEO of Fashion Nova, was the bidder.

The sale was “more than double the highest US sale at auction and nearly 50% higher than the world record,” according to Sotheby’s Concierge Auctions.

Upon closer inspection, this is what Saghian received for his $141 million expenditure:

Within the expansive grounds of the home is a sculpture created by Italian glass artist Simone Cenedese.

This is the property’s main entrance.

The mansion’s entrance features floor to ceiling windows that provide an excellent daytime view, along with a revolving sculpture.

The One has 42 full bathrooms, 7 partial bathrooms, and 21 bedrooms.
