In October 2021, following Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Alaves, Aguero collapsed into his chest.

In December of that year, he completely stopped playing football under a doctor’s advice.

The legendary player from Argentina ended his career at the age of 33 due to an abnormal pulse.

Fortunately, that doesn’t mean that he will never longer play football. Aguero’s participation in an all-star CONMEBOL friendly was revealed on Wednesday.

Aguero will pair up with former Barcelona great Ronaldinho and former Argentina teammate Gonzalo Higuain at the DRV PNK Stadium, home of Inter Miami and Lionel Messi.

An exhibition game between the South American Football Confederation and legendary players in football will take place on December 5 at 8:00 p.m. (local time) at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to a press release.

“Ronaldinho, Lucio, Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero, Maximiliano Rodríguez, Leonardo Ponzio, Javier Zanetti, Gonzalo Higuain, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Jorge Campos, Luis Hernández, Sebastián “el Loco” Abreu, Carlos Valderrama, Mario Yepes, Iván Zamorano, Marcelo Salas, Justo Villar, Nelson Haedo Valdez, Juan Arango, Claudio Pizarro, Ronald Raldes, Bryan Ruíz, Patricio Urrutia, Oswaldo Vizcarrondo, Roque Santa Cruz, among other world soccer stars will be part of this great match representing their respective countries.”

When Aguero moved from Atletico Madrid to Manchester City in 2011, he quickly rose to become one of the most feared strikers in all of football.

On the last day of the 2011–12 season, he scored the game-winning goal in City’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Queens Park Rangers, securing the team’s inaugural Premier League title.

Aguero became City’s all-time leading goalscorer throughout his tenure at the Etihad Stadium, winning four more Premier League championships and tallying 260 goals in that time.

Aguero led Argentina to Copa America victory in 2019 on the international front.

Unfortunately, by the time his good friend Messi hoisted the World Cup in Qatar, he had already retired. Despite this, Aguero still made plans to celebrate with his countrymen in the Middle East.
