The Lakers’ 138-94 loss to the Sixers marks LeBron James’ worst career defeat by 44 points

On Monday night, Joel Embiid led the Philadelphia 76ers to a 138-94 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, dealing LeBron James the worst loss of his NBA career.

Despite breаking the league record for most minutes played in a game, LeBron James had a mixed performance in Philadelphia, scoring 18 points.

At Wells Fargo Center, the 38-year-old broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record with 66,298 minutes played, cementing his place in basketball lore.

But he ended up with a record that was a little less desirable at the night’s end.

During his illustrious 20-year career, LeBron and the Lakers suffered their most lopsided loss in a 44-point loss against the 76ers in Philadelphia.

Prior to Monday’s humiliating loss to the Sixers, his worst loss occurred in 2019 when the Lakers were 136-94 whipped by the Indiana Pacers, a 42-point deficit.

James suffered his worst loss in NBA history at the hands of Joel Embiid, who led Philadelphia to a win with 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists—his sixth career triple-double.

The Sixers went 22 for 46 as a team, falling one miss short of the franchise record. Tyrese Maxey contributed 31 points and fired 5-for-12 from beyond the arc, while Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was in the stands watching.

Off the bench, Marcus Morris Sr. scored 16 points and shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc for the 76ers, who had dropped two of their last three games. On the other hand, Patrick Beverley scored 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting from outside the arc, continuing his 3-for-22 performance from the field this season.

The much-anticipated cоnfrоntatiоn between Embiid and James never happened. Even with his 18 points in 29 minutes, the latter was unable to cut into the 76ers’ lead.

Even without Embiid in the fourth quarter, the Sixers still managed to score 40 points, easily defeating the Lakers. In addition, they got out to a blazing start, making 13 of 26 three-point attempts to extend their lead to 25. This was their best half-season performance this season.

Philadelphia won their second consecutive game after losing their first two, and they may soon have Kelly Oubre Jr. back after defeating LeBron and company.

Before being hurt in what is believed to have been a Һit-and-run incident, Oubre averaged 16.3 points in eight games. He took part in shootaround and could accompany the 76ers on their upcoming road trip for two games.

On Wednesday, James will play on the road in Detroit, and on Thursday, he will go to Oklahoma City, in an effort to recover from his record-setting loss.
