Al Hilal – Al Nassr preview: Waiting for Ronaldo to blow up championship hopes

Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr will have a showdown with Al Hilal in a “6-point match” on the way to the crown of the Saudi Arabia National Championship.

Cristiano Ronaldo shined brightly in the latest confrontation between Al Nassr and Al Hilal. The Portuguese superstar scored twice to help the home team come back to win 2-1 despite having to play without players and win the Arab Club Champions Cup.

This victory also helped Al Nassr end their series of poor matches against Al Hilal, after 3 consecutive times of not being able to defeat their rival (lost 2, drew 1). This is also Al Nassr’s 14th victory over Al Hilal in confrontation history, after 29 defeats and 13 draws.

Nearly 4 months after their first title with Cristiano Ronaldo, Al Nassr was again at a disadvantage when facing Al Hilal. Before tonight’s big battle, Al Nassr was 4 points behind Al Hilal in the Saudi Arabia National Championship championship race and had to be a guest at King Fahd Stadium.

In Al Nassr’s difficult situation, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to recreate his super form like in the Arab Club Champions Cup final and create a turning point in the Saudi Arabia National Championship this season. However, Cristiano Ronaldo could only play 78 minutes in Al Nassr’s most recent match. The 38-year-old striker had to be reluctant because of neck pain in the 0-0 draw with Persepolis in the AFC Champions League.

However, coach Luis Castro hopes that Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is not serious and that CR7 will still play and shoulder the responsibility in the great match with Al Hilal.

On a personal level, Cristiano Ronaldo will compete with Aleksandar Mitrovic – a direct competitor in the Saudi Arabia National Championship top scorer race this season. Currently, CR7 is leading the scoring list with 15 goals and Al Hilal’s striker has 11 goals.
