Dwight Howard shares Lakers Rookie Of The Year
Lonzo Ball opens up about brutal ιnjury derailing his career
Since January 14, 2020, Lonzo Ball has been out of NBA action. The guard for the Chicago Bulls has been out of action for over 500 days and still has a long way to go before he can return to the floor.
After undergoing his third knee surgery in less than two years in March, Ball’s status for the upcoming season was in question. During a recent interview on Trae Young’s “From the Point” podcast, he stated that he will miss the entire 2023–24 season. As the ιnjury problems escalated, Ball also spoke out.
At first, we weren’t sure what had happened to me. I was going to numerous specialists for various ailments. My movements were mainly vertical. And that was tough for me since I had no idea what the next day would bring,” Ball admitted.
Ball also expressed disappointment that he was unable to play for the Bulls, whom he considered to have constructed the “perfect team” for his abilities. After Ball’s final game, Chicago had a 27-13 record and led the Eastern Conference. The rest of the 2022 season saw the Bulls go 19-23 and end with a 4-1 series loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Last year, they failed to even make the playoffs.
Ball seems upbeat about the treatment plan his physicians have laid out for him, which is fantastic news. If he has to sit out another season, he will have missed over a year of NBA action. But Ball is still young at 25, and he has a long career in basketball ahead of him if he can heal fully.
In 35 games with the Bulls, Ball posted averages of 13.0 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 5.1 apg, and 1.8 spg.
