Celtics’ Jayson Tatum drops eye-opening ideas to make All-Star Game more competitive

Jayson Tatum, a superstar for the Boston Celtics, thinks it was the proper call by the NBA to have the All-Star Game pit East vs West. On the other hand, he believes the league can do more to increase the level of competition in the games. On the Point Forward podcast, Tatum discussed the All-Star Game with Andre Iguodala. Make it feel like a “real game” that the players will take seriously; that’s what the Celtics star, Adam Silver, and the rest of the team should be aiming for. Watching the All-Star Game has become an exercise in futility as it has devolved into a sham game throughout the years. The ASG received a significant boost when it switched to the draft format and established final quarter scoring goals. But it wasn’t flawless, and there’s room for improvement to make it more competitive.

Tatum has stated his desire for more, while acknowledging that the East vs. West format is a positive step.

According to Tatum’s comment on ClutchPoints on X (formerly Twitter), “I do think changing East and West, and making half time shorter, introduction shorter would make it feel more like a real game.”Nоt оnly ιs ιt nоt tоо Ԁιffιcult tо ιmplement, but ιt ιs аlsо а very ιnterestιng suggestιоn. ιf ιt meаns revιvιng entÒºusιаsm ιn tÒºe yeаrly celebrаtιоn, ιt’s а rιsk wоrtÒº tаkιng, even ιf ιt meаns sаcrιfιcιng sоme vаluаble аԀvertιsιng tιme fоr tÒºe NBа tо Ԁо ιt.The NBA has not yet made any additional adjustments to the All-Star Game. I hope Silver watches the interview with Jayson Tatum.
