Al Nassr vs Al Riyadh: Ronaldo is the difference

In round 16 of the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr welcomed Al Riyadh at home after 2 matches without a win. Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo made history when he had the 1,200th professional match of his career, having previously spent most of his time playing in Europe.

Former England goalkeeper Shilton is recognized as the record holder for the most official matches played by a male player, although the exact number is disputed. Some statistical websites put the number at 1,390 but Shilton himself gave the figure as 1,387. The second person on this list is Ronaldo.

The home team completely dominated the first half but only scored two goals. In the 33rd minute, Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring thanks to an assist from Mane. Afterwards, it was Ronaldo who assisted Otavio to double the gap in the final minutes of the half.

In the second half, Al Nassr continued to apply pressure. In the 67th minute, Talisca scored the third goal for the home team with a beautiful finish. Two minutes later, Al Riyadh pulled one goal back, but that was all the away team could do in this match. In the 4th minute of injury time, Talisca completed a double to seal the victory for Al Nass.

Al Nassr won the final with a score of 4-1, maintaining second place in the Saudi Pro League with a total of 37 points. This result puts Ronaldo and his teammates 7 points behind leading team Al Hilal.
