‘I thought it was crap’! Jaylen Brown of the Celtics criticizes the ‘over-emotional referee

Jaylen Brown of the Celtics, who was ejected for the first time in his career after clashing with officials during a game against the Knicks, criticizes the ‘over-emotional referee’.

Guard Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics sounded off and referred to the official as “over-emotional” after he was given his first-ever ejection during Friday night’s 133-123 victory over the New York Knicks.

Brown received two technical fouls in a row and was substituted out in the fourth quarter. Brown attempted to contest a foul call on the first one, and he was given another one not long after he got back on the bench.

After the game, Brown remarked, “I always thought my first career ejection would be something a little more exciting.” It’s not some overly emotional referee who’s had a rough day; it’s maybe a tussle or something; guys get folded up and go to the ground.

A pool reporter was later informed by crew chief Mark Lindsay that the first technical foul was called for using foul language against an official, and the second was called for a “wave off directed at the official.”

“XYZ wаnted to make it a back and forth, and you could tell that his emotions were involved,” Brown remarked. As I’m speaking to the referee, he calls the second tech from the opposing side of the court. This is an obvious instance of someone abusing their position of authority to attempt to have someone removed from the game.

Regarding the ejection, Mazzulla remarked, “I’ve been on the sidelines in the NBA for five years, and I’ve seen players act and sаy things that are way more disrespectful than that.”

Before leaving, Brown had four assists and 17 points.

With 30 points from Derrick White, the Celtics were able to close the game and continue their comeback. In addition, Kristaps Porzingis and Jayson Tatum scored 21 and 25, respectively.

Boston kept their perfect 10-0 record at home by shooting 52.7 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from beyond the arc collectively.

This season, the Celtics are 16-5 and in the lead in both the Eastern Conference and the Atlantic Division.

On December 12, when the Celtics play the Cleveland Cavaliers at TD Garden, Brown will be back in action.
