Magic’s Paolo Banchero confirms health status vs. Celtics after scary ankle ιnjury’
The terrifying ankle ιnjury that Orlando Magic player Paolo Banchero had wasn’t as bad as first thought. On Friday, he’ll really play in a game versus the Boston Celtics.
The Orlando Sentinel’s Jason Breede reports that Paolo Banchero, much to the relief of Magic fans, has confirmed that his ankle is in stable condition.
Paolo Banchero of the Magic said that he was in the locker room cursing at the TV while having his right ankle wrapped. While evaluating his ankle, Banchero felt well enough to return, though he did confess to being a touch drаmаtic when he rolled it. Banchero has assured us that he will be fine to play in Boston on Friday,” Breede tweeted on Monday.
In 36 minutes of play, Paolo Banchero scored 20 points (on 9-21 shooting, 2-3 from the free throw line), grabbed 10 rebounds, handed out 4 assists, and committed a career-high 8 turnovers against the Cavaliers. Banchero did not return after spraining his right ankle with more than a minute remaining in the third quarter. http://pic.twitter.com/a3GVal5LQP C
On December 12, 2023, Lee Harvey tweeted as “MusikFan4Life.”
In Monday’s 104-94 victory against the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers, Paolo Banchero sprained his ankle. Banchero contested a reverse lay-up attempt by Cavs point guard Darius Garland. The nimble Magic forward stumbled awkwardly onto Garland’s foot as he did so. Bangero slammed against the deck in excruciating agony.
For the Magic, Paolo Banhero had a double-double in 36 minutes played, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 boards. After losing 121-111 on the road to Cleveland on December 6, Orlando got even with the Cavaliers with this win.
A trio of teams—the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Orlando Magic—have sprung as major surprises in the NBA so far this season. In the four seasons prior to this one, Orlando had never reached 34 victories.Due in large part to the efforts of the 2023 NBA Rookie of the Year, the Magic are currently projected to win 52 games this season. With an average of 20.7 points per game, he and the German phenom Franz Wagner have been the Magic’s leading scorers. The Magic have been getting solid production from Banchero, who has averaged 6.7 boards and 4.6 assists per contest. The Celtics are in for some terrible news if Paolo Banchero stays healthy. Friday will see the meeting of the Eastern Conference’s top two clubs, Boston and Orlando. Prepare some popcorn.
