Official: Thomas Tuchel named 19 mans for the final Champions League group stage match at Old Trafford

Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel has named a 19-man squad for the final Champions League group stage match against Man United at Old Trafford. The Bundesliga champion has entered the knockout round of the tournament as the top team in Group A, so this will be a match with a very comfortable mentality. However, Man United is different, the Red Devils need to defeat Bayern to maintain hope of reaching the round of 16.

3 points are said to not be easy to achieve for MU when Bayern recently suffered a shocking 1-5 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga. The Gray Tigers certainly don’t want fans to be disappointed anymore. To show his ambition Tuchel has appointed the strongest possible squad for the confrontation at the Theater of Dreams.

The 19-player squad of the Bavarian Gray Tigers has the following names: “Neuer, Peretz; Davies, Guerreiro, Kratzig, Mazraoui, Min-jae, Upamecano; Goretzka, Kimmich, Laimer, Pavlovic; Choupo-Moting, Coman, Kane , Muller, Musiala, Sane, Tel” Those are all the best factors in the hands of the German strategist. Special mention must be made of England star Harry Kane, who has scored 22 goals so far this season.

Serge Gnabry was a notable absence, with the former Arsenal youngster suffering a tendon problem in the loss to Frankfurt. Sven Ulreich, Matthijs de Ligt, Bouna Sarr, Tarek Buchmann and Gabriel Marusic are also unavailable for selection due to injury.

Although a few names are missing, it is clear that Bayern Munich is still rated much higher than MU. However, coach Tuchel still seems somewhat humble and not subjective towards his opponents. “They are always a dangerous team,” said the former Chelsea coach. My experience is that playing against Manchester United is always dangerous. They have a certain temperament and mentality that makes them difficult to beat.”

Bayern had a 4-3 victory over Man United in the first leg at Allianz Arena. Therefore, in the return leg, a big challenge awaits MU. Ten Hag’s army has no way back, they will have to aim for 3 points. It is predicted that everything will not be easy when everyone knows that Bayern Munich holds an unbeaten record in the group stage since 2017.
