In general, Payton Pritchard’s summer is off to a decent start

After losing his starting role to Malcolm Brogdon, Pritchard will have a shot at playing more minutes next year because to the Marcus Smart trade that brought Kristaps Porzingis to the Boston Celtics.

It was never about dissatisfaction with the Celtics that motivated Pritchard to seek a trade. Because he is a hooper and all hoopers want to do is hoop, the young guard’s goals were entirely focused on basketball. Just because yesterday was the Fourth of July isn’t the only reason Pritchard has to celebrate. The fact that he may have also rejoiced about that is irrelevant.

The news of Pritchard’s engagement to Emma MacDonald was announced on July 3 by the actor on Instagram.

The pair has reportedly been dating for six months when the proposal happened in Cape Cod. Photos of Pritchard and MacDonald on Instagram show that they are overjoyed to be together, and they are probably going to start making wedding plans soon.

In and out of the game, Pritchard will have his hands full.

Given the length of the offseason, Pritchard will have plenty of time to refine his game in preparation for the type of basketball that Joe Mazzulla and his staff intend to implement in the upcoming season. Despite his perceived lack of stature, Pritchard became a viable option at either guard position under Ime Udoka’s tutelage, thanks to his improved screening and cutting.

Pritchard, an Oregon native, should have no trouble reestablishing consistency with his perimeter shooting when he joins the league as a sharpshooter, which is Mazzulla’s most sought quality. A more constant role is looking more probable.

As the new season begins, we can only hope that Pritchard’s good fortune carries over onto the court and inspires his teammates to bounce back from their disappointment in the Eastern Conference Finals.
