Chelsea captain – Reece James will have to be away from the field for 4 months

The defender had to limp during the first half of Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park in round 1 of the Premier League. James, who has been out of action for three months this season, has suffered multiple muscle injuries over the past 18 months.

 

The London club have just released a brief statement to confirm that scan results showed a problem with James’ hamstring. Specifically, Chelsea announced: “Captain Reece James underwent a medical assessment after Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Everton. The defender was withdrawn in the first half at Goodison Park with the result being a concussion.” hamstring injury.

 

Reece will now begin his rehabilitation program at Cobham training centre.”

 

Fabrizio Romano confirmed James’s recovery timeframe is set to be up to three months. There is a high possibility that the season will end for James if the situation does not improve. This is bad news when the EURO 2024 finals are near.
