Due to an ιnjury, Los Angeles Lakers star center Anthony Davis was unable to participate in the team’s second game of the season against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday. Many thought it was a hip problem, but it was actually a brand-new problem that prevented him from playing.
According to Lakers head coach Darvin Ham, Davis’ ankle ailment from the first game against the Spurs caused him to miss the game. Davis probably sat longer out of prudence, but hopefully he won’t have to lose much time.
The Lаkers’ success this seаsоn depends heаvily оn Dаvis, sо if he misses аny significаnt time, things mаy get ugly quickly. The Lоs аngeles defense relies heаvily оn him, аnd they hаve hаd а difficult time getting stоps withоut him.
You only need to consider the disparity between the Lakers’ two games against the Spurs as evidence. Despite a late run by San Antonio in the fourth quarter, LA managed to win the inaugural meeting. However, the Spurs dominated the Lakers in the second game on Friday. San Antonio’s defensive pressure on the Lakers proved to be the game’s defining factor. Hopefully, Davis can recover sufficiently to play over the few days off before LA’s home game against the New York Knicks.
If he is unable to go, the others will have to fill in for him. Although they were unable to defeat the Spurs, every game offers a fresh chance.
