Bruce Willis flashes peace sign as family continue to support star amid dementia diagnosis
During one of his few public appearances since being diagnosed with dementia, Bruce Willis acknowledged bystanders. The Hollywood star, who is rumored to be nonverbal, gave a peace sign while driving.
Following the news of his illness, the family of the Hollywood star has provided frequent updates on his status. Most recently, they stated openly that they are aware that “any day could be his last” as his health deteriorates.

On his most recent excursion, though, the Die Hard star appeared to be having a good time as he gave onlookers a peace sign from his car. Bruce was driving around Studio City with two security by his side. He acknowledged people in the vicinity while sporting a red shirt with checkered patterns and a black cap.
Fans who have been following his devoted family every time they provide an update will be happy to see him on this rare outing. Early this year, frontotemporal dementia, or FTD, was identified as the 68-year-old star of Die Hard. However, Bruce’s health issues were initially made public last year when his family disclosed that he had aphasia, a language problem.

He just celebrated Thanksgiving with his family, which included Scout, his daughter. The 32-year-old spent time with her dad and posted a video to Instagram.In the video, the couple was seated at a table holding hands. She uploaded a picture of herself with his palm on her face as well.
She wasn’t the only family member to post a seasonal photo; Emma Heming Willis, Bruce’s wife, also posted a group photo from the past. Along with his ex-wife Demi Moore and their daughters Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, the picture featured her daughters with Bruce, Mabel and Evelyn. She expressed her appreciation for them in the upload by writing, “I’m grateful and thankful to know this kind of love.”
Emma has maintained her optimistic attitude ever since the diagnosis was disclosed to the world. She refers to herself as his “care partner” rather than his caregiver, though. She acknowledged in an open conversation from September that she requires assistance with her duties.
She stated that she needed to “learn to ask for help” in a YouTube video at the time, adding that “this is a marathon and not a sprint.” “I would like people observing this journey from the outside to feel as though they have effective ways to step in,” she stated.
“Typically, a friend will ask what they can do to help, but it simply adds to the caregiver’s workload—dictating, then instructing—and most of the time, we simply don’t have the time for it. However, I am aware that if we don’t ask for help, it won’t last. As such, we do need it and we must learn how to ask for it.
“This is a marathon and not a sprint,” Emma went on. It simply cannot continue, so you must seek assistance and support.”
It was recently confirmed by his pal and film creator Glenn Gordon Caron that Bruce is not “totally verbal”. Speaking to Page Six, Glenn revealed: “My sense is the first one to three minutes he knows who I am. He’s not totally verbal; he used to be a voracious reader – he didn’t want anyone to know that – and he’s not reading now.” Glenn then went on to add: “All those language skills are no longer available to him, and yet he’s still Bruce.”
