According to reports, Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka have ended their seven-year romance.
The 54-year-old Fantasy hitmaker began her Merry Christmas One and All! tour in November, but the 40-year-old dancer hasn’t shown up to her performances, raising rumors that they are no longer together.
According to a source who talked with People, the celebrity is currently spending the holidays in Aspen alone; in the past, Tanaka has typically traveled with her.
The couple, who started dating in 2016, is not going on a Christmas trip together for the first time in many years.
When celebrating Mariah’s birthday in March, the couple was last spotted together. Bryan at the time shared a picture of himself with the celebrity on Instagram along with an adoring message.
One of my favorite photos is this one. At all. Greetings on your anniversary, lovely queen. 3/27❤️.
Fans started speculating about the couple’s breakup in November following her performance at Highland, California’s Yaamava Resort & Casino.
Since more than ten years ago, Bryan has frequently demonstrated his dancing skills at her performances. However, fans have noted on social media that they have observed he has vanished from view.
Some people thought Mariah appeared depressed, while others took issue with her supposedly lackluster performance.
Concerns regarding a possible breakup were heightened by Bryan’s complete disappearance from the hitmaker’s Instagram profile since December 2022.
The last Instagram picture Mariah shared of Bryan seems to have been taken on December 26, when the two happy lovers celebrated Boxing Day by posing side by side.
Bryan and Mariah haven’t publicly addressed the split rumors as of yet.
Tanka and Carey first met in the mid-2000s, and in 2006, Carey—who is the father of 12-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with her ex-husband Nick Cannon—went with her on her Adventures of Mimi tour as a backup dancer.
In 2016, he told E! News, “There was just a mutual admiration and something connected with us back in the day.” She noticed something about me that, to be honest, I was first unaware of, and that’s when it ended. History had decreed that we would be connected in some fashion.
Mariah called it quits on her engagement to James Packer in 2016, and she and Bryan soon started dating again.
When they were seen getting close to each other at the beach over Thanksgiving weekend that year, it appeared as though the two were officially dating.
Despite their short-lived breakup in 2017, they reconciled later that year and have maintained a loving, although subdued, relationship ever since.
The performer was also famously married to her first husband, 72-year-old music mogul Tommy Mottola, from 1993 until 1998, prior to her relationship with Tanaka.
After that, Carey started a brief romance with singer Luis Miguel, which ended in 2001.
Later, while shooting on a music video, she met 41-year-old Cannon. The two got married in 2008 and welcomed their twins in 2011.
After a while, the former couple divorced in 2016 and went their own ways.
Mariah had a joyous farewell to her Merry Christmas One and All! Tour on Sunday night.
The native of New York sang many holiday favorites, such as Oh Santa!, Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, and All I Want for Christmas Is You, during her 16-concert tour, which concluded to a sold-out Madison Square Garden.
Mariah had said earlier in December that she was excited for this Christmas season because the last one “wasn’t the greatest.”
I’ve been anticipating this Christmas for almost the entire year. Since last year, she said in an interview with People, “because last year wasn’t the greatest.”
Even though I’m grateful for them all, I didn’t have the most fun during Christmas this year.
“This year, this Christmas, come hell or high water, we are going to have fun,” she continued.
