After Anthony Davis seemed to sustain a severe ιnjury on Wednesday against the Bulls, Lakers supporters are concerned
The last thing supporters want to witness in a league where stars rule is one of their team’s greatest players being hurt. Los Angeles Lakers supporters’ hearts dropped on Thursday night as they saw their team’s great center, Anthony Davis—who is no stranger to recovering from injuries—fall with what appeared to be a severe ιnjury.
The Lakers star unintentionally rolled his ankle as his momentum took him towards the out-of-bounds area after making an incredible defensive play on Coby White, swatting the Bulls guard’s jumper. Davis looked to twist his ankle as his lower left leg made contact with White’s hand.
After just three plays, Anthony Davis departed the court, and the Lakers replaced him with Rui Hachimura. Lakers supporters were incensed by this since they were questioning why head coach Darvin Ham waited so long to bench a player who had obviously just taken a hard Һit.
“After LeBron’s turnover, Darvin Ham called a timeout to take AD out because AD hurt his left ankle and couldn’t walk for two possessions. ,” a fan tweeted. Another wrote, “I’m not going to blame coach Ham for the entire game because he’s mostly to blame, but he definitely has you to blame. That non-TO at the beginning with the AD ankle ιnjury was really stup𝔦d and nasty of him, smh…”
Nevertheless, Anthony Davis’ apparent ankle ιnjury did not appear to keep him out of action for very long, which is excellent news for the Lakers. Playing for the opening eleven minutes of the fourth quarter, he saw the Purple and Gold down by twelve points before Darvin Ham eventually raised the white flag in the crushing defeat.
Although Davis’ tenacity is admirable, some supporters are concerned about his health after he bravely weathered an ιnjury in a regular season game in late December.
Matthew Peralta of Lakers Nation stated, “I am worried, but I appreciate AD gutting out a sprained ankle.”
It’s probably safe to assume that Anthony Davis will sit out Friday’s second-night back-to-back game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in order to rest his ankle. The Lakers play the Timberwolves on Friday.
