Although teamwork and solidarity were hallmarks of Argentina’s 2022 World Cup victory, Messi did not get along with every member of his team. As per the ‘A La Tarde’ segment on Tartu TV, the Argentina captain became enraged at a remark made by Papu Gomez concerning his spouse, Antonela Roccuzzo.

A participant in the program claimed that Gomez commented while the Argentina players were celebrating in the dressing room after one of their games in Qatar.

“Everyone is happy because they progressed, and everyone in the locker room starts to sing,” the panelist remarked. What is Alejandro El Papu saying? “Transfer Antonela over!”

Gomez, a midfielder for Monza, has been involved in controversy before this year. Due to an injury, the 35-year-old replaced Argentine teammate Giovani Lo Celso in the World Cup squad, and the latter was accused of witchcraft against the former. Gomez was suspended from competition for two years in October, following the results of an anti-doping test.

It’s possible that Gomez played his final football game. Messi, meanwhile, is excited about playing for Inter Miami in the 2024 MLS season and the opportunity to defend Argentina’s Copa America title the following year.
