British media said MU is cautious about the prospect of Greenwood playing again for the “Red Devils” in the future. Talk Sport revealed that the backlash from some fans, especially female fans, caused the team to consider bringing Greenwood back.

 

Many staff members of the club as well as the MU women’s team opposed the idea of Greenwood continuing to wear the red shirt of Manchester. In addition, pressure from sponsors is also the reason why MU does not want to let Greenwood play for the team.

 

This poses a difficult problem for MU leadership. MU’s current contract with Greenwood will end in June 2025. Greenwood is likely to play for Getafe until the end of this season.
