Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount spreads holiday cheer with surprise visit to local care home

Mason Mount, the midfielder for Manchester United, brought joy to the residents of Timperley Nursing Home as he joined them for an early Christmas dinner on Thursday.

Currently recovering from injury and set to return in January, United’s number 7 took the opportunity to spend quality time with the residents, sharing a meal and engaging with fans who have followed football throughout their lives.

Mason’s unexpected visit delighted everyone, with 102-year-old Rita Smith welcoming him and his brother to the Kingsley Healthcare Home. They sat down with the residents for a roast dinner, exchanging stories, laughter, and even pulling Christmas crackers to kick off the festive celebrations.

In addition to Mason’s heartwarming gesture, the Manchester United Disabled Supporters’ Association organized the 34th annual dinner at Old Trafford, where players, including Mount’s teammates, continued spreading holiday joy.

The team has also been actively involved in gifting young fans special moments throughout December, with the women’s team recently spending time with inspiring patients at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
