Mariah Carey Celebrates ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ Breaking Her Own Spotify Record Amidst Bryan Tanaka’s Confirmed Split

On Boxing Day, Mariah Carey posted a boastful picture of herself on Instagram, ignoring Bryan Tanaka’s confirmation of their breakup.

Although Bryan was originally one of Mariah’s backup dancers, rumors started to circulate last week that the two had split up.

Page Six was informed by a source that they had split up because she does not want children and he does.

This Tuesday, Bryan, 40, formally announced on Instagram that he and Mariah, 54, had called it quits on their seven-year romance.

Mariah herself wrote on Instagram less than three hours later, but she chose not to address the separation and instead focused on breaking the record for the most plays on Spotify in a single day with her holiday hit song, All I Want For Christmas Is You.

According to TMZ, fans watched the number 23,701,697 times on Christmas Eve. But, Mariah’s good fortune doesn’t stop there.

It turns out that Mariah set a record for the most streams in a single day on Spotify with her own performance of All I Want For Christmas Is You on Christmas Eve of last year, which received 21,273,357 streams from her fans.

When the song was released in 1994, it immediately became a Christmastime classic. It is currently played so extensively that The Economist once said the singer makes $2.5 million a year from just that one song.

In a recent Instagram picture, she said, “Wow!” I was woken up this morning to the amazing news that “All I Want For Christmas Is You” has been the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 and Global 200 charts, shattering the record on Spotify!

“And to top it all off, it’s snowy outside!” she continued. I’m so grateful to you for making this Christmas—and, to be honest, the entire season—such joyous for me. Christmas never ends for me, even if it is December 26 (ha ha!), and I will continue to share some of our joyous occasions from the previous week with you!

One of the pictures from the photo album that went with it included Mariah looking gorgeous in a red gown and posing by the tree with her 12-year-old daughter Monroe.

The previous evening, she posted a touching video of herself giving a man dressed as Santa Claus a warm welcome on her Instagram Stories.

Bryan’s diplomatic breakup post, in which he insisted that their divorce was mutual and offered his “overwhelming sense of gratitude” for their seven-year partnership, was followed shortly after by her posts.

On her Insta Stories the previous night, she had included a heartwarming video of her warmly receiving a man dressed as Santa Claus

“With mixed emotions, I share this personal update regarding my amicable separation from Mariah Carey after seven extraordinary years together,” he began his lengthy note to friends and fans.

He was adamant: “We have mutually decided to take different paths, and we approach these separate journeys with a great deal of respect and gratitude for the priceless time we have shared.”

“The memories we’ve created and the artistic collaborations are etched in my heart forever,” he continued, paying heartfelt tribute to their years together.

He continued, saying, “Throughout our shared journey, Mariah’s devotion to her family and her craft have inspired us.” I would want to convey my gratitude and affection for Maria and her amazing kids, whose generosity and love have improved my life beyond measure.

He pleaded with the public in his final paragraph, saying, “I kindly ask for your understanding, privacy, and respect during this sensitive time.”

Bryan went on, saying, “I am so appreciative of the love and support I have received from fans; it has been a constant source of strength.” I’m excited to keep going because I know that my love of dance, inspiration, and the creative arts will come through in the next chapters.

‘With #MuchLove and appreciation,’ the stunning professional dancer concluded his message of breakup, before adding his name.

When Mariah skipped Bryan, who had previously regularly accompanied her on her yearly Christmas trip to Aspen, the breakup rumors took a sharp turn last week.

By the time an insider revealed the information to Page Six last Wednesday and provided some insight into the reasoning, the rumors had already begun to circulate.

The source clarified, pointing out the 14-year age difference between the long-term couple: “He wants to start a family.” She is not at that point.

Bryan is childless as of yet, but Mariah is a mother of two, sharing co-parenting of her twins, Monroe and Moroccan, 12, with her former partner Nick Cannon.

Since Bryan shared an Instagram photo of the two of them in March to wish Mariah a happy anniversary, the couple has not been spotted together.

As for Bryan, he hasn’t been on Mariah’s Instagram page in almost a full year; his last visit there was on Boxing Day in 2022.

Mariah is currently enjoying some downtime in Aspen following one of her extravagant Christmas concert tours, which have become into a yearly ritual.

She gained notoriety for inviting Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande to the stage with her during a Madison Square Garden performance earlier this month.

Perceptive fans promptly observed that Bryan was likewise absent from Mariah’s travels during her Christmas tour this year.

Previously, Bryan would dance onstage during Mariah’s Yuletide presentations, but this year he was not featured in the show.

At least since 2006, when he supported Mariah as a backup dancer on her Adventures of Mimi tour, Bryan and Mariah have been acquainted.

Mariah shared Monroe and Moroccan with the sultry comedian Nick Cannon, whom she married and then divorced, throughout the following ten years.

Following her breakup with Nick, Mariah entered a fast-paced relationship with Australian billionaire James Packer, but it ended in divorce in 2016.

After she started dating Bryan later in 2016, they stayed together until this year’s split rumors, with the exception of a brief breakup in 2017.

Even while they didn’t often talk about their relationship in public, Bryan did open out to E! News in 2016, not long after they started dating.

“There was a mutual admiration and something that connected with us back in the day,” the theatrical performer exclaimed.

She noticed something about me that, to be honest, I was first unaware of, and that’s when it ended. History had decreed that we would be connected in some fashion.
