Jamison Tatum praises the Pistons’ fιght in overtime thrιller, saying, ‘They come and punch you in the mouth’

On Thursday, Jayson Tatum lauded the struggling Detroit Pistons for their valiant effort against his Boston Celtics. Despite a 21-point lead for the Pistons, the Celtics rallied to win 128-122 in overtime.

The Celtics’ comeback in the second half was led by Tatum. He scored 31 points while shooting just 35.5% from the field and 18.2% from beyond the arc. The come-from-behind victory was helped along by Kristaps Porzingis, who scored 35 points, and Derrick White, who scored 23 points.

Tatum stated in the postgame news conference that the Celtics never undervalued the Pistons, even though they were 2-28 heading into the game.

Even while Jayson Tatum admitted he hadn’t watched every game, he did note that the team was active for the most of those games. They play with intensity and manage to make shots. A lot of their games have been tight. They were blasted out in very few games that I’ve watched. Thus, you may anticipate an easy task, only to be met by a swift blоw to the jaw, forcing you to reassess your strategy.

Once again, Cade Cunningham was excellent, contributing 31 points (12 for 22 shooting), six boards, three steals, and two blocks to his stat line.

With 22 points apiece, Jaden Ivey, Bojan Bogdanovic, Jalen Duren, and Alec Burks led the Pistons. After 28 losses in a row, the Pistons tied the 2014–2016 Sixers for the NBA record for longest losing streak.

A loss would bring them level with the 1942–1945 Chicago Cardinals, who had the longest losing streak in NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB history, which stood at 29 games.

Their record fell to 2-29, but they have played competitively in their last several games. Their recent five-game losing streak is 7.2 points per game.

Teams are cautious about Detroit’s record, according to Jayson Tatum.

According to Jayson Tatum, opponents are aware of the Pistons’ record and are taking precautions to avoid becoming the club that ends Detroit’s losing streak.

In today’s shootaround, he mentioned the topic. Things don’t always work out the way you plan, do they? The obvious problem—their record—is known to all.Nonetheless, what a gifted squad. On an individual level, they’re better than a lot of the other teams in the bottom of the league. Over there, you’ll find some exceptionally gifted players who have had excellent instruction.

A member of the 5-25 Washingtоn Wizards, Kyle Kuzma, shared a similar view on X (formerly Twitter), stating that teams are hesitant to lose to the Pistons.
