Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito ‘Can’t wait to work together again!’

Twins reunion! Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito share sweet embrace nearly 40 YEARS after iconic comedy: ‘Can’t wait to work together again!’

A Twins reunion with Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger marked the start of 2024.

The Terminator star posted a photo of himself holding DeVito and DeVito’s daughter Lucy DeVito on the Broadway play’s stage to his Instagram on Friday.

“My sibling!” Schwarzenegger wrote, “It was great to see Danny on Broadway in I Need That.” as the caption for the adorable picture. “He, Lucy, and all the other participants kept the audience laughing and loving every minute—it was a real spectacle with heart and one of the best plays I’ve ever seen!”

In the 1988 movie Twins, Schwarzenegger and DeVito played genetically altered siblings who only come into contact as adults. This was Schwarzenegger’s first attempt at a humorous part, and the box office response was extremely positive.

In his social media post, the former governor of California stated, “I can’t wait to work together again.”

In the 1988 film Twins, Schwarzenegger and DeVito portrayed genetically altered siblings who don’t cross paths until maturity.

The well-known actors starred in Triplets, a long-gestating film in which the brothers find out they’re actually triplets.

Eddie Murphy was rumored to be joining the sequel’s cast, while more recently, Tracy Morgan was said to be taking on the new part.

Nevertheless, Ivan Reitman, the 75-year-old director of the first movie, passed away in February 2022, putting the project on hold.

The picture was subsequently offered to Jason Reitman, the son of Ivan and a well-known Hollywood director; nevertheless, Schwarzenegger said he was the one who turned it down.

When his father passed away, “Jason Reitman literally stopped the project,” Schwarzenegger said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in May.

“His father had a strong desire to do it.” I was desperate to do it. He went on, “Danny DeVito really wanted to do it.”

“We had the funds.” Jason states, “I never liked the idea’ and put a hold on it,” following the death of his father.

While ‘working on another picture with Danny,’ Schwarzenegger revealed that he is ‘a joy to engage with, and his creativity is exceptional.’

Twins marked Schwarzenegger’s first stab at a comedic role, and it proved a huge success at the box office

The iconic stars were involved in a long-in-the-works sequel to Twins called Triplets , where the brothers would discover that they’re actually triplets

But after Ivan Reitman, the original film’s director, died in February 2022 at the age of 75, the project was shelved.

In November, DeVito made a lighthearted suggestion that Schwarzenegger “might have opted for Twins 2 instead of entering politics as governor” in an interview with GQ regarding his involvement in the movie I Need That.

Between 2003 and 2011, the True Lies veteran took a leave of absence from acting to serve as governor of California.

Thankfully, Arnold told THR that he was “developing another movie with Danny” instead, saying, “He’s so much fun to work with and so talented.” The two are still working on a project together.
