Anthony Davis on Lakers’ ‘Biggest Downfall’ This Season
With Sunday’s 129-109 Pelicans victory, the Lakers dropped to 17-17, and Anthony Davis identified the team’s biggest weakness for the season.
Davis scored 20 points and pulled down 10 boards in the setback, LA’s second straight defeat.
He addressed the team’s increasingly problematic lack of availability after the game.
They were destroying us on the glass, Davis remarked.
This is followed by Rui [Hachimura] leaving. I just warned you that would be our worst problem this year. The inability to maintain good health, particularly after a back-to-back. Cam [Reddish] and DLo are already absent from your life.
After Rui’s fall, Gabe [Vincent] will obviously be out for a long time. Our rotation has sҺrunk in size. Yeah, we gave up a lot of threes defensively, but you lose another body when it comes to scoring.
“In the first half, they scored ten goals. There are several me𝚗 we wаnted to film, and they obliged. Doing nothing will solve the problem.
Our initial effort and level of focus were severely lacking, in my opinion. Many of C.J. McClum’s threes were solely from his perspective. That’s not easy to handle.
Even fan favorite Austin Reaves, who had a frustrating night with nine assists and twenty points, could feel the team’s frustration.
“Sure, I’d like to win, but winning and losing are just part of the game,” Reaves stated.
“Winning is your goal. Plus, I think we all know that winning is our team’s number one priority. Plus, we’ve been having trouble ever since the in-season competition. We have suffered a little misfortune in the areas of health, injuries, and illness.

Despite his impressive performance, the Lakers lost by 20 points, and LeBron James addressed the loss.
