Twitch and K𝔦𝔠k Take Notice: LeBron James Hints at Streaming Video Games

Would you like to see LeBron James playing some Madden NFL? It sounds like its happening, its just a matter of where he ends up playing.

NBA player and star of Space Jam: A New Legacy LeBron James recently hinted that he might like to show video games, which got the attention of a few sites. Just a few days ago, LeBron wrote on his Twitter/X account, “Thinking of live streaming my @EAMaddenNFL games when I play. Who should I stream with?” That is, what platform brand ” Over the weekend, that one tweet lit up the streaming world. Almost everyone had their own idea of where they’d like to see the four-time NBA champion play football, which led to some interesting replies.

Adin Ross and Max Holloway, who made K𝔦𝔠k , were some of the first people to respond to the message. They both made short pitches to move to the new platform. K𝔦𝔠k  has been growing lately because they have a few ways to give creators more money. For example, they have an Incentive Program where you can play games online and get paid $16 an hour, or if you prefer to do things the old-fashioned way, they offer a 95/5% split on revenue, meaning the streamer gets most of the money. But K𝔦𝔠k  has had its share of problems lately, like the  worker prank video that went viral a few months ago and the CEO’s answer to it, which made people wonder what’s going on with the platform.

Then there was Daniel Clancy, the CEO of Twitch, who quickly told LeBron James why he should think about joining Twitch. One of the new, interesting ideas is that you can now simulcast on both Twitch and YouTube at the same time to get twice as many viewers and possibly double your income. Twitch would give him a bigger following right away, but it also has problems that people have been having, like DMCA issues and streamers being abused all the time. Plus, Twitch takes a bigger cut of the money you make.

It doesn’t matter what happens; LeBron always chooses the best business moves for his own company. No matter what you think of him as a player, the man has been in the NBA for over twenty years and is probably thinking about what he wants to do next, whether it’s for a living or just for fun on the weekends. Huge numbers of people will be interested in watching him play video games wherever he goes. It will be one of the main draws for any platform he ends up on. Now we’ll see if any of those sites want to pay him a lot of money to be there, like they have done with Ninja, Markiplier, TimTheTatMan, and other streamers in the past.12
