The great Lionel Messi of Barcelona recently left a reminiscing comment on a post made by the Brazilian master Ronaldinho.
A vintage image of Ronaldinho meandering around the famous La Masia hallways in Barcelona was included in the article. The caption for Ronaldinho said:
“No more trips abroad… Alright, time to go to work. I will soon make the next adventure’s chapters public!”
Together with Ronaldinho, Lionel Messi had a great time at Barcelona. In 2006, the Argentine legend’s first goal for La Blaugrana was made possible by Ronaldinho. Messi reflected on their mutual history by leaving the following comment:
“What a wonderful image! Those coffee-drinking walks from the dressing room to the Masia pitch. Laugh out loud.
Between 2004–05 and 2007–08, the two spent four seasons together on the Barcelona field. Together, they appeared in 80 games and scored nine goals. Messi had seven assists from Ronaldinho, and the Argentine gave the Brazilian two assists.
They shared two La Liga titles, two Champions League titles, and two Supercopa de Espana titles while they were teammates at Barcelona.
Former Argentina teammate Lionel Messi, a legend of Barcelona, was unable to convince him to join Inter Miami
Recently, Lionel Messi faced an uncommon obstacle in his attempts to strengthen Inter Miami’s roster. Messi has been crucial in drawing talent to the MLS team ever since his high-profile transfer, but it appears that his pursuit of Marcos Rojo has encountered a roadblock this time around, as reported by Mundo Deportivo (via Football Espana).
Messi’s arrival at Miami following his free agent departure from PSG was nothing short of spectacular. He declined a possible return to Camp Nou as well as hefty offers from Saudi Arabia. Longtime Barcelona colleagues Messi’s teammates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba traveled across the Atlantic to accompany him.
The hiring spree continued after that. Luis Suarez joined Messi six months into his contract. Marcos Rojo, a former Argentina teammate who was highly desired by Messi, has apparently decided to remain at Boca Juniors.
The iconic attacker won’t be missing the Camp Nou too much because Suarez, Alba, and Busquets—all former Barcelona teammates—are expected to dominate Inter Miami alongside Messi.
