Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson roasts his own movie during WWE return
The former wrestler who is now an action hero defeated “Baywatch” and Jinder Mahal simultaneously.
When Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson returned to the WWE on New Year’s Day, nobody was safe, not even Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson himself.
The wrestler-turned-movie actor returned to the ring on Monday’s Raw Day 1 to disparage Jinder Mahal. and a movie he directed.
When Johnson came back, he was just as gregarious as ever, bursting into catchphrases and exuding the confidence that made him one of the most adored figures in his time as a wrestler. He further demonstrated his endearing self-deprecation by adding a cinematic gaffe to his burns. “Nobody likes you, and you’re not funny,” he teased Mahal. In actuality, you would most likely be one of the Rock’s films if you were
Bahal pushed back, claiming he had never seen Baywatch, but Johnson was prepared to continue slinging barbs at his gaffe. “Well, nobody else did either,” he remarked about the film, in which Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Zach Efron, and Alexandra Daddario all featured.
During his outburst, The Rock came dangerously close to losing control when he laughed and then took another shot at Baywatch. The movie only brought in $58.1 million at the North American box office, not exactly a hit with critics or viewers.
From the film’s premiere, Johnson seems to have a great sense of humor about Baywatch. The ill-willed Razzies presented him with an award, which he accepted with much laughter on social media. He captioned it, saying, “Let me go ahead and take this L right on the chin for Baywatch.”
Johnson’s WWE presence gave the impression that this wasn’t a one-time surprise visit. He declared at the end of his show that he wanted to take on Roman Reigns, which could indicate that we will be seeing more of the Rock in the ring soon.
