In Tuesday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies All-Star Ja Morant wore the newest version of his Nike Ja 1 shoes as a tribute to the WNBA.

The shoes are orange with a white outsole and swoosh. The heel has the letter “W” to honor the wоmen’s league.

Morant has always been a big fan of the WNBA and wоmen’s basketball in general. She makes time to watch games whenever she can. Teniya, his younger sister, is a freshman at Mississippi Valley State and also plays hoops.

The home game against the Spurs is Ja Morant’s seventh game back since the league suspended him for 25 games last season for posting pictures of gu𝚗s on social media a few times.

The two-time NBA All-Star has scored 25.2 points, given out 7.8 assists, and grabbed five rebounds in 35.5 minutes since coming back. His team is now 4-3 since his return.

The Grizzlies are trying to end a three-game losing streak before their game against San Antonio on Tuesday. With nine minutes left to play, they were ahead 88–70 and in a good position to do so.

As of that point, Ja Morant led the аttаck with 20 points and nine assists, and Desmond Bane scored 24 points.

Ja Morant says his time in the league was a lesson.

Ja Morant was upset that he had to sit out the first 25 games of the NBA season because of problems he had off the court last season. Even though it was hard for him, he said that being away made him better by giving him time to think about how he ran his life.

The Murray State star, who is 24 years old, told the Associated Press that he had some bad days while he wasn’t playing, but that he used his free time to get his life together.

What he said:

“It made me feel better in the end.” During that process, I think I learned some things about myself. Really opened my eyes. It changed the way I see life. What I do during the day. How I walk around.”

But Morant was quick to point out that he is still a work in progress. He is determined to live up to this promise because many people are pulling for him to succeed and he doesn’t want to let them down:

Making better choices and living a better life will be the change. I want to be the best Ja I can be.
