Newly signed Celtics standout Jayson Tatum teams up with Richard Mille, current holder of the 400-meter record

This past week, the Boston Celtics and Jayson Tatum faced off in a major game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The All-Star forward wore a notable accessory before the contest was called off.

The watch on Tatum’s wrist was the most noticeable part of his otherwise ordinary gameday outfit. He sported a $210,000 bespoke Richard Millie timepiece. They collaborated with Wayde van Niekerk on this piece, which has a unique “South Africa” concept.

The 200 and 400 meter races are Van Niekerk’s strong suits as a track and field athlete from South Africa. His current 400-meter records include both the Olympic and world records. Among the best 300-meter times in the world, he also ranks well.

The Boston Celtics and Jayson Tatum extended their deal in 2020 by five years. He will get $32.6 million this season, marking the third year of his contract. With a $37 million player option for 2026, the four-time All-Star is expected to earn $34.8 million in 2025.

In the Celtics’ pivotal game against the Thunder, how did Jayson Tatum fare?

Many had penciled in Tuesday night’s game between the Boston Celtics and the Oklahoma City Thunder. It included the conference champion from the East and the runner-up from the West.

The tҺrilling finish to the match between these two elite teams was well worth the wait. Nevertheless, the Thunder emerged victorious with a final score of 127-123.

As a result, the Boston Celtics dropped to 7–0 on the season. With a total of 30 points, 13 boards, and 8 assists, Jayson Tatum gave it his all in the game. But it wasn’t enough to beаt the Thunder, who were playing at a blistering pace.

All-Star point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was OKC’s most impressive player. He maintained his MVP-caliber performance with another 36 points, 6 boards, and 7 assists. Chet Holmgren, a long-shot for Rookie of the Year, chipped in as well, contributing 14 points, seven assists, and four blocks.

For the 12th time this season, Jayson Tatum scored 30 points or more on Tuesday. His career high came in a November loss to the Charlotte Hornets, when he scored 45 points.

Like SGA, Tatum is having a season that may be considered MVP material. His statistics thus far are as follows: 27.0 ppg, 8.5 rpg, and 4.5 ast. With a 26-7 record, Tatum and the Celtics remain unbeaten despite losing to the Thunder.

With this setback, Boston’s advantage over the Milwaukee Bucks has sҺrunk to just two and a half games. They will have two days to rest, regroup, and get ready for their match against OKC. On Friday, the Celtics will face the Utah Jazz in their next game.
