The first round of fan vote for this year’s NBA All-Star Game was announced by the league on Thursday. The fact that Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is no longer in first place in the vote for Western Conference guards was a surprise. Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks now has almost 60,000 more votes than Curry, who is now in second place.

Here is how everyone voted. LeBron James got the most votes overall in the West, and Giannis Antetokounmpo got the most votes overall in the East.

Curry, who is 35 years old, has been the best West guard for a long time. He has been in first place in that area almost every year since 2014 (the only year he wasn’t was in 2020, when he broke his hand in the fourth game of the season and missed the All-Star Game).

But over the years, Doncic had been slowly catching up to Curry. Last season, he came in second place to Curry. It probably doesn’t help that the Warriors are 16–17 so far this season, which has made things hard for Curry.

There is still a lot of time for Curry to get back ahead, though, since fans have more than two weeks to vote. But the early vote results from Thursday may m𝔢an that a new government is about to take over.
