Cristiano Ronaldo linked with shock Saudi switch as Al-Nassr among potential January suitors; could reunite with Raphael Varane

According to Teamtalk, there is interest from Saudi clubs in signing 30-year-old centre-back Raphael Varane, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr leading the race for his signature in the upcoming January transfer window.

Manchester United has had a difficult start to the season, with eight losses in their first 15 matches, leading to reports of a divided dressing room and growing discontent under manager Erik ten Hag.

There have been reports of unhappiness within the squad regarding Ten Hag’s team selections, particularly in Varane’s case. The defender was dropped for the match against Manchester City and completely left out of the Carabao Cup game against Newcastle United, despite being fully fit.

Varane’s representatives have been approached by some Champions League clubs, but a move to Saudi Arabia could potentially offer him a more financially rewarding deal that would be hard to resist. Currently, Varane earns over £300,000 per week at Old Trafford.
