Wayne Rooney’s son mirrors his father’s success with a return to form at Man Utd’s U14 academy

Wayne Rooney’s son, Kai, made a triumphant return to the pitch for Manchester United’s Under-14s after recovering from an injury, showcasing a dominant performance.

Following in his father’s footsteps as a forward, Kai has been making waves in the Red Devils’ youth teams, generating excitement among fans. The 14-year-old regularly shares his football adventures with his substantial social media following.

After a recent game over the weekend, Kai posted a photo on Instagram, featuring his Manchester United shirt laid out in the locker room. In the caption, he informed his 174,000 followers that he scored two goals and provided two assists in a 6-0 victory against Leeds. Kai mentioned that it was his first match back after being away for “months.”

Fans are thrilled to witness the young talent’s return to the field, and this is not the first time Kai has captured attention. Last year, he scored in a cup final win against Manchester City, and fans have previously noted similarities in his chest control style to that of his famous father, Wayne Rooney, who holds goal-scoring records for both Manchester United and England.

Kai, at 14, is the oldest among Rooney’s four boys, including Klay (ten), Joseph (seven), and Cass (five). In 2022, Kai signed a modeling deal with Puma, a departure from his father’s longstanding association with Nike. Known for resembling his dad, Kai sports Puma boots on the field and featured in their back-to-school ad last summer.
