Kevin Durant’s Divisive GOAT Remarks: Draymond Green’s Reaction

Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors commented on Durant’s most recent remarks.

The Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant recently stated that if he hadn’t joined the Golden State Warriors, he would have been discussed among the greatest of all time in an interview with Duane Rankin of Arizona Republic.

Durant remarked in his exclusive interview with Rankin, “Because I went to the Warriors.” Why am I not included in that? You ought to enquire about that. Not at all? “What have I not done?”

Draymond Green, Durant’s former Warriors teammate, offered his opinion on these remarks in a podcast episode. These remarks have undoubtedly generated controversy. Green admitted that Durant is one of the greatest scorers of all time and that he would never discount his championships, but in the end, he feels that in order to be considered for the Hall of fαmє, he must lead a team to a championship like Steph Curry did in 2022.

”Steph didn’t get the credit that Steph gets today until 2022 when he led this team to a championship and won Finals MVP,” Green said. “… You gotta go do what Steph did to get to that conversation.”

Green makes a valid point when he points out how exclusive that conversation is and the reason Durant hasn’t joined yet. Nevertheless, Green is aware that Durant is among the greatest scorers in NBA history and an all-time great. The GOAT debate is simply at a different level.
