To replace Andre Onana at Old Trafford, Manchester United is seeking to acquire Jan Oblak, a goalkeeper from Slovenia. MU has reached out to purchase Jan Oblak as a replacement for goalkeeper Andre Onana.

 

David De Gea, who won the Golden Glove in the Premier League last season, was allowed to leave Manchester United in the summer when his contract expired. The Old Trafford team spent over 50 million euros to bring Onana from Inter Milan as his replacement.

 

However, the Cameroonian international has been inconsistent in goal, making significant errors that have proven costly for Man Utd. Reports suggest that the Red Devils are looking to part ways with the African goalkeeper and bring in Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid as a replacement.

 

In an exclusive report from Todo Fichajes, a Spanish source stated that the Rojiblancos are open to bids for the 31-year-old star. Man United is reportedly negotiating with Oblak’s representative, according to Goal.com Vietnam. The club is said to be working on an offer worth £38.5 million, approximately €45 million, which could be sufficient to secure the services of the former Benfica player.

 

Oblak has been the star player for Atletico Madrid in La Liga, receiving the award for the best goalkeeper during the 2015–16 season. The seasoned player, with 60 caps for Spain, was also named La Liga’s Most Valuable Player when Atletico Madrid won the title in 2020–21 under Diego Simeone. With the need for a new goalkeeper, Manchester United is eyeing Jan Oblak, a world-class player, as a potential solution.
