It looks like the Warriors may have finally found a lineup to pull themselves out of their current slump

LeBron James turned back the clock and helped the Los Angeles Lakers overcome Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors 145-144 in double overtime with a sensational triple-double effort. The 39-year-old scored 36 points and recorded career-highs of 20 rebounds and 12 assists.

James calmed down in the last seconds to convert two crucial free throws that gave the Lakers an amazing win and improved their record to 24–23 on the year. “It’s a topic I can discuss with my grandchildren,” James said.

His opponent, Curry, was as impressive; he scored 46 points in a losing effort after forcing overtime with a late layup. Curry stated, “We can’t imagine a situation where a game like tonight happens.”

Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 24 points, including a game-winning three-pointer that sent the game into overtime twice. After that, Curry made a huge three-pointer that seemed to win it for the visitors, but James held his nerve at the line.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr voiced his displeasure with the officiating as his side only made 16 free throws compared to the Lakers’ 43. Kerr said, “I’m not going to comment because I want to be on my best behavior.”

The Lakers’ prospects of qualifying for the playoffs are enhanced by their victory over the Warriors, who now stand at 19–24.
