Al-Hilal Star Imitates Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘Siu’ Celebration, Right Under the Watchful Eye of Lionel Messi

During Al-Hilal’s 4-3 victory over Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, a top player made a famous “Siu” celebration.

Monday, January 29, 2024, saw a friendly encounter between the Saudi Pro League and Major League Soccer (MLS). Hilal is now on winter break, while Miami is getting ready for the start of the 2024 season.

In the Middle East, the hosts took an early lead thanks to former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, which Abdullah Al Hamadan doubled. After rejoining with Messi, Luis Suarez scored his first goal for Miami, cutting the deficit in half.

But before the half, Brazilian forward Michael regained the two-goal lead with a header. He then rushed to the corner flag, mimicking Ronaldo.

Although it might have been interpreted as a slight to his longtime rival Messi, Michael frequently employs the “Siu”; earlier this season, while Ronaldo was on the field, he did so when playing Al-Nassr in the Arab Club Champions Cup.

Soon after the restart, Messi took some revenge of his own by scoring from the penalty spot. In less than a minute, he immediately provided an equalizer for teammate David Ruiz.

However, Malcom, Messi’s former Barcelona teammate, scored the game-winning goal with just two minutes left in normal time, helping Hilal prevail.

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner will take on rival Ronaldo on Thursday, February 1st, when Miami plays Al-Nassr in the Riyadh Season Cup, their next preseason match.

The game’s symbols are touted as “The Last Dance,” while the same could be said about their buddy from the previous summer. Messi, 36, has a contract that runs for two more MLS seasons, but Ronaldo, 38, seems set on pursuing his profession for the time being.
