As a guest on Getafe’s field in round 23, Real Madrid showed superior class by quickly pressing their opponents. In the 14th minute, Lucas Vazquez made a great cross from the right wing and Joselu was there to head in a header to put Los Blancos ahead.

Joselu had a sublime day of competition

In the 39th minute, Real Madrid almost doubled the gap and it was again the combination of Vazquez and Joselu. Vazquez had time and space on the right wing to make a low cross. Joselu finished, but his effort was pushed wide of the post by goalkeeper Soria.

Coach Jose Bordalas made three changes in the first half to try to salvage Getafe’s poor performance. However, his team still could not make a surprise despite playing at home.

In the second half, Real Madrid doubled the gap in the 56th minute. Vinicius made an accurate pass for Joselu to hit goalkeeper Soria for the second time in the match. This was also the goal that sealed the 2-0 victory for the away team.
