Following agent Rich Paul’s denial that LeBron was seeking a trade away from the underperforming Lakers, James had a cryptic response regarding his future with the franchise

After his agent Rich Paul put an end to trade rumors involving LeBron James, the star player gave a vague update on his future with the Lakers.

James, who will be 39 years old next season, has a $51.4 million player option.

At a Saturday morning shootaround in New York, he gave reporters the simple answer of “no” when asked if he had decided to opt into another year with the Lakers. After Tuesday night’s Lakers loss to the Hawks, James tweeted an emoji of an hourglass—a message he would not clarify before the Lakers’ game against the Knicks.

Paul informed ESPN that the Cavaliers are not seeking to move LeBron and have no intention of doing so.The Lakers, who made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals last year, have had a rough go of it this season, going 25-25 and sitting in ninth place in their conference.

Due to his left ankle ιnjury, James’ availability to face the Knicks was cast in doubt. In terms of body? For what it’s worth, he assured reporters on Saturday that he had improved. However, I’ve done much worse. Nonetheless, I’m crossing my fingers that I can make an impact tonight and lead our squad to victory.

Both Anthony Davis (Achilles) and OG Anunoby (right elbow inflammation) of the Knicks are considered questionable for the upcoming game.

It would be New York’s tenth consecutive victory.
