During NBA All-Star Weekend, the Slam Dunk Contest used to attract a large audience.
Unfortunately, the decorated contest’s quality has declined significantly in recent years.
Many of the league’s most famous players never take part in the competition, which is why fans no longer care about it.
As a competitor in the 2024 NBA Slam Dunk Contest, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown intends to change that.
Prior to it, Brown expressed his hope that his action will inspire more elite players to take part in the competition in the future via Celtics on NBC Sports on Twitter.
“It sounds like a good time to me…” Brown expressed his desire for more elite players to step up and compete.
Among the Eastern Conference’s top players, Jaylen Brown has been on a tear recently.
During his stint in the NBA, he has, without a doubt, received multiple individual awards.
With the Boston Celtics, Brown has appeared in 48 games this year, averaging 22.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
Thanks in large part to Brown’s statistics, the Celtics were able to maintain their dominant position in the NBA during the 2023–24 season.
