At All-Star weekend, Jayson Tatum will make his television debut as an analyst

As a starter in the All-Star Game, Jayson Tatum is preparing for his fifth straight All-Star weekend.

But in a career when there aren’t many “firsts” left to have, Tatum will be making his on-air debut as an analyst for Saturday’s 3-point game.

Vince Carter, Carmelo Anthony, and Adam Lefkoe will be among the on-air talent that Tatum appears with, according to Richard Deitsch of The Athletic. The Steph Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu 3-point head-to-head, which could be the weekend’s biggest attraction, will also feature insight from him.

According to Deitsch, “Tatum will be an analyst for the 3-Point Contest that will be televised on truTV and Max on Saturday night (“Access 23 Jordan Brand ALTCAST”). At 8 p.m. ET, TNT, TBS, and Max will carry the customary Saturday Night NBA All-Star game.

The Boston Celtics are hopeful that Tatum will also take part in Jaylen Brown’s dunk contest participation. It seems that the native of St. Louis will be playing a significant role over the weekend. Speaking with Tatum throughout the shooting competition will be entertaining as well, particularly since it will give us an idea of what he looks for and how he responds to the unquestionably impressive shooting feats that we will probably witness. In recent years, Tatum has solidified his status as one of the NBA’s faces. He is without a doubt one of the league’s best players and one of the most admirable stars in sports history. He is benefiting from his reputation and the professionalism with which he handles himself.

Even so, it would be entertaining if Tatum took the field in place of Sam Hauser and demonstrated to the world his true ability as a forward for the Celtics. In the upcoming years, Hauser belongs in a 3-point competition. Tatum might be the one to bring it about. In any case, this will be Tatum’s second first, and Celtics supporters who have watched him develop over the course of his career will be interested to see how he approaches this new position. Who knows? Maybe this is a peek at what’s to come.
