We all played incredibly well together. We demonstrated that we are able to endure hardships together and stand by one another. I’m a little frustrated because, in the end, they scored a goal, which is a nasty sensation.

However, I want to maintain the team’s momentum. We demonstrated our growth as a team and played well.

Axel Disasi, a top player for Chelsea, won a lot of accolades for his performance against Manchester City on Saturday. If his team is to win the Carabao Cup the following weekend, the center back needs to perform at the highest level. In the Etihad Stadium, the defender produced a number of crucial blocks and clearances, demonstrating his ability to be the one to aid the Blues repel formidable attackers as they attempt to move up the Premier League standings.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team persevered in repelling City’s constant barrage of raids, earning a crucial point away from home on Saturday. Raheem Sterling opened the score in the 42nd minute, looping his goal past Ederson after a crafty counterattack, giving the Blues a well-earned lead going into halftime.

Then, Erling Haaland missed a number of excellent opportunities to tie the score before Rodri saved him in the 83rd minute with a powerful attempt to make it 1-1. Chelsea persevered to climb into the top half of the Premier League standings.

Disasi played a key role in the draw, blocking multiple shots at close range and getting to the top of the pack to head off multiple crosses. The France international celebrated each clearance as though he had scored, and his teammates were obviously grateful for his dedication to defense.

Even though the 25-year-old hasn’t exactly lit up the Premier League since moving from Monaco, Pochettino’s faith in the Frenchman is beginning to pay off as he has featured frequently this season. Disasi must repeat his performance at the Etihad to make sure that Thiago Silva’s injury-related absence does not prove to be the deciding factor if Chelsea is to defeat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final the following weekend.

The Frenchman will face formidable opponents such as Darwin Nunez (assuming no injuries), Mohamed Salah, and Luis Diaz. Expect an as demanding afternoon as he did against City.

Jamie Carragher, a former England international and legendary player for Liverpool, showered the defender, who can also play right-back, with praise after his performance on Saturday. “I can’t remember a better defensive performance this season, certainly from a central defender,” he said to Sky Sports. You’re going to Manchester City to play against the world’s finest striker—he was incredible. He was unquestionably the greatest player on the field and the Man of the Match. He was simply putting himself in every situation.

“Though 15 or 20 years ago, it was the kind of play you would see from center-backs. We’ve come a long way since then. That was almost like a throwback, as we can see them now developing from the back and getting on the ball.

“Every time the ball comes in, you’re like a magnet—backs against the wall, throwing yourself in front of things.” Speaking about Chelsea, I can’t recommend John Terry’s performance highly enough.
