Ronaldo faced continuous taunting from Al-Shabab fans, leading the Portuguese superstar to display a controversial gesture after the match

Specifically, after Anderson Talisca scored the winning goal for Al-Nassr in the 21st round of the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo celebrated ecstatically. The 39-year-old player directed his celebration towards the Al-Shabab fans’ section, recreating a controversial celebration from Juventus’ match against Atletico Madrid in the 2019 UEFA Champions League.

In the same match, on-field fans captured several puzzling actions by Ronaldo. In response to chants praising his arch-rival Messi, the Portuguese forward covered his ears with his hands. He then adopted a two-footed stance and repeatedly raised and lowered his arms.

“Ronaldo’s disrespectful celebration must be held accountable,” expressed a furious Saudi Arabian journalist.

According to Saudi Arabian media, Al-Shabab has filed a complaint with the Saudi Pro League authorities, providing video evidence to request disciplinary action against Ronaldo. In the aforementioned match, Ronaldo scored from a penalty kick, helping Al-Nassr defeat Al-Shabab 3-2. The former Real Madrid star continues to demonstrate his impressive penalty-taking abilities, having not missed a penalty in over two years.

In the next round, Ronaldo and his teammates will face Al-Hazm in the 22nd round on March 1st. If they emerge victorious, Ronaldo will reach the milestone of 800 career wins.
