Saudi soccer officials have punished Cristiano Ronaldo for one game for what appeared to be an offensive gesture following Al Nassr’s recent victory over Al Shabab.

The leaders of the Saudi Pro League reportedly called Ronaldo to explain the gesture he made toward fans who were yelling Lionel Messi’s name at him following Sunday’s match.

The 39-year-old was seen clutching his ears and pointing to his undergarments in a video that instantly went viral on social media as supporters yelled, “Messi, Messi,” from the stands.

The committee declared that he would have to reimburse Al-Shabab for the expenses of filing the complaint and the Saudi Football Federation for a fine of 10,000 Saudi riyals ($2,666).
