This season, the Boston Celtics have been by far the best NBA club.

When the Celtics crushed the Golden State Warriors 140-88 on Sunday, their outstanding play reached a new peak. With a 44-point advantage at the half, the Celtics simply kept rolling in the second half. Jayson Tatum, the standout player for the Celtics, had a fantastic birthday gift. Following the game, he talked about the huge victory with Celtics insider Marc D’Amico.

“That’s up there.” It’s a wonderful birthday, Tatum remarked. “I got to win and do what I love in front of the world’s greatest fans, and I get to spend the rest of the day with my family.”

Tatum has participated in 56 games thus far this season, averaging little under 36 minutes per contest. With a shooting percentage of 47.6 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from three-point range, and 82.6 percent from the free throw line, he has been averaging 27.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.0 steals a game.

With the victory, the Celtics’ record climbed to 48-12 and their lead in the Eastern Conference standings grew even larger. With their current winning streak of 11 games, they appear to have homecourt advantage for the duration of the playoffs.
