On Sunday, Manchester United’s Raphael Varane had the opportunity to immerse himself in the world of Formula 1 as he attended the British Grand Prix. The prestigious event at Silverstone attracted a multitude of high-profile individuals from various sports and the entertainment industry. Alongside Varane, notable figures such as Chelsea’s Thiago Silva and Roma star Paulo Dybala were also present.

 

Varane took to his Instagram story to share his excitement, posing next to the number one Red Bull car belonging to defending F1 champion Max Verstappen on the grid. In his Instagram stories post, the French center-back captioned, “ready for lights out!! @redbullracing @f1.” He also expressed his awe and appreciation for the sport after gaining access to the Red Bull pit, stating, “What a sport!! Amazing to see all the teamwork and excitement up close!!” Varane’s enthusiasm for the F1 experience was evident.

 

Having recently joined Manchester United for pre-season training at Carrington, Varane, along with his defensive partner Lisandro Martinez, is preparing for the upcoming season. Both players had missed the end of the previous season due to injuries.

 

As part of United’s pre-season preparations, Varane is expected to feature in the team’s opening friendly against Leeds in Norway. The Red Devils have a series of eight friendlies lined up before the 2023-24 campaign kicks off, providing vital match practice and preparation for the team.
