Steph Curry and Jonathan Kuminga lead the Warriors to a rout of the Bucks, 75-90

The Warriors appeared to be glad to be home after a protracted road trip along the East Coast.

With a 125-90 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, the Golden State Warriors bounced back from one of the greatest blowout losses in team history. When Andrew Wiggins returned to the Dubs lineup, Golden State was playing at its best level in weeks. With their current record of 33-28, the Warriors have once again surpassed the Lakers for the ninth spot in the Western Conference.

The former MVP was able to play for the Bucks even though Giannis Antetokounmpo was doubtful to play. After Milwaukee took the lead for a few minutes in the first quarter of regulation, Wiggins and Podziemski made back-to-back three-pointers to extend their lead to 10 points. For the remainder of regulation, the Bucks were behind.

Despite having a strong game with 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists, Antetokounmpo was unable to match the Warriors’ exceptional outside shooting. Throughout the contest, Golden State made 48.7% of its three-point field goal tries. The Warriors decided Milwaukee’s fate in the second half by shutting down the Bucks defensively and giving up only 32 points.

Although Wiggins’ comeback to the lineup only lasted 13 minutes, the Dubs were glad to have him back in the game. Fortunately, the Warriors did not require him to have a significant impact when he returned. Steph Curry shot 10-for-19 from the field (6-for-10 from three) and finished with a game-high 29 points, eight assists, and five rebounds.

 

Aside from his personal 20 points on 9 of 14 field goal shooting, Jonathan Kuminga added 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks. 12 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocks were all recorded by Draymond Green. In his 20 minutes of action off the bench, Moses Moody recorded a game-high +22 plus/minus, and Trayce Jackson-Davis scored 15 points in 15 minutes on just 8 field goals attempts.

On Thursday, the Warriors will play another back-to-back, but at least they won’t have to worry about travel. Tomorrow night, they will play host to the Chicago Bulls; the first tip is set for 7:00 PM Pacific.
