Stephen Curry hurt his ankle, which makes the Warriors’ loss to the Bulls even worse.

The Golden State Warriors lost to the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. Stephen Curry may have also lost.

With 3:51 left in the fourth quarter, Curry rolled his right ankle as Golden State lost 125–122 to the Chicago Bulls at Chase Center. He had to be helped off the court and into the hallway. Chris Paul took his place in the closing group.

Coach Steve Kerr didn’t say anything new about the type or seriousness of Curry’s injury at his news conference after the game. He only said that Curry had his foot in a bucket of ice.

KP scored 25 points to lead the Warriors.

With 26 seconds left, Chicago’s DeMar DeRozan made the final 3-point shot that won the game. On the next play, Golden State’s Brandin Podziemski missed a layup that could have tied the game.

The Warriors (33–29) jumped out to a 13–point lead in the first quarter after destroying the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday in one of their best wins of the season. However, the Bulls came back as they got tired.

DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic, a big guy, took turns scoring for them. Together, they made 24 of 40 shots and scored 33 points.

As the third quarter went on, the score went from 61–61 at halfway to 99–89.

The Warriors woke up in the fourth quarter with a 15–6 run, which was led by Moses Moody, Trayce Jackson–Davis, and Jonathan Kuminga.

Most of the last frame was decided by just a couple of plays. Chicago won 31–32, even though Curry wasn’t playing for the last four minutes.

DeRozan was very good from mid-range, where he used his skills to get past players and score or force his way to the free throw line. Like DeRozan, Vucevic scored from different spots, such as in the post, behind the line, and in the middle of the court.

Thompson made a 28-footer in the last minute to give the Warriors a short lead, but DeRozan quickly tied the game by pulling Kuminga off balance and making a jump shot through the contact.

On Golden State’s next opportunity, Podziemski looked for a hole in the paint and found one. He tried to make a layup on the right side of the basket, but it missed, and DeRozan then made two more free throws.
