Jarred Vanderbilt is anticipated to return this season, “progressing upward

There haven’t been many updates on Jarred Vanderbilt’s development since his foot injury was diagnosed. Clarity has been essentially hindered throughout the process due to uncertainty regarding the injury, whether surgery would be necessary, and when he will be able to return.

The window for his recovery is likewise closing as the season draws to a close. All the signs, though, suggest that he will return to the court before the year is over.

Jovan Buha of The Athletic talked about Vando’s timeline on a recent live broadcast, and while it was speculative at first, it was well-informed speculative talk from one of the team’s insiders.

As of late, sure, I have heard.I’ve heard that Vando is making improvement. It appears that he will return this season. All that matters is the timing. Is it going to be two weeks or four weeks from now? It’s a significant distinction.

As it stands, there are precisely four weeks left in the season. Though it’s obviously a short timeline to get Vanderbilt back, things appear to be moving in the right direction.

The Lakers will actually have a week where they are off for almost all of it due to that short schedule. The team will take Friday, March 22, off after playing the Hawks on Monday, March 18.

That would definitely be an excellent time to bring a guy back into the starting lineup if you were going to do so. Although the Lakers have no control over Vando’s availability, ideal timing would be ideal.

As per Vanderbilt’s initial diagnosis, he was scheduled for a follow-up evaluation in early February, within three to four weeks. Math savvy readers will note that the timeline has come and gone, but Darvin Ham stated during a recent pregame availability that an update on both him and Gabe Vincent would be provided this week.

However, the Lakers and their supporters are currently playing a waiting game as he recovers. However, having him return this season with time to get back into the lineup would be a significant lift, given how the club seemed when he was healthy.
